Start here: your own AI assistant

Free Updated 2026-10-19

A personal AI assistant is a chat bot that you own: it runs under your account, on your computer or a small server, and answers in a place you already use every day.

Where it can live

  • Discord — a private server where only you (and people you invite) talk to the bot. Start with the free guide Set up your own Discord server and bot.
  • Telegram — a bot account you message like a contact.
  • Your own private app — coming soon to the library.

What you need

  1. An AI tool you have your own account for. The member kits use Claude Code with its official Discord and Telegram channel plugins, which need a paid plan (Claude Pro or Claude Max for individuals). You can also run a local model — see the Buyer guides track.
  2. A computer that stays on (a Mac or a Linux machine; Windows kits come later), or a small server.
  3. About an hour for the first setup.

You always use your own accounts and your own keys. Plateclear doesn't sell AI usage and never sees your tokens.

Before you let it act for you

Decide who may message it and what it may do without asking. Read Permission modes and allowlists, plainly (members) before you leave one running.
